Chapter 5 Evil Nazis

Chapter 5
Evil Nazis
Nikolaus Barbie; Rudolf Hess; Adolf Eichmann; Martin Bormann: Herman Göring

The German Nazi party spawned some of the most evil men in modern history because they had the backing of almost a whole nation, the nation of the Germanic tribes. These men were barbaric to an extreme, but they did a very good job of presenting themselves to the German public as fine, upstanding, Christian churchgoers. These fine, upstanding, Christian church goers seemed to be normal family men with wives, children, homes and household pets. They gave off an air of respectability, dependability and stability and just like all the other members of the Nazi party, these brutal men exhibited an undying enthusiasm for their homeland. Like the German majority, they believed that the fatherland was the greatest country in the world, but in reality it was the pus-filled abscess of Europe and it gave birth to the children of doom.
These men were especially proud to be personally involved with the work of the Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler, and they prided themselves on being able to verify their clean unadulterated bloodlines. Having an unadulterated bloodline was a prerequisite for members of the SS, the security force for the Nazi party, and also for entry into the Gestapo, the German secret police.
Nikolaus Barbie; Rudolf Hess; Adolf Eichmann; Martin Bormann: Herman Göring; Heinrich Himmler and Josef Mengele among many others, wanted to conquer the world. They wanted to rid the world of those races that they considered to be inferior species of humanity, and they wanted to reign supreme as the chosen people.
Germans, this so called Christian nation believed that they were chosen by God to lead the world, with their leader Adolf Hitler at the helm. He planned to bring to fruition the one thousand year rule, as depicted by the apostle John in the book of Revelation, in the New Testament.
To these men, the chosen people were not the Jews. The chosen people were like themselves the supposed descendants of the Aryan race, and these men all went to their graves unrepentant and still believing the myth of their own superiority. But death is the great equalizer of humanity, and no one escapes it or what follows thereafter, no matter what creed he or she follows.

Nikolaus (Klaus) Barbie (1913-1991)
Just like Saddam Hussein, Klaus Barbie was referred to as a brutal butcher; he was called the butcher of Lyon because that is where he was stationed during World War II. Klaus Barbie was a member of the hated Gestapo and he was given the job of extracting information from the captured French prisoners most of whom, he believed, were members of the French Resistance.
According to some of the survivors of his brutal treatment, Barbie was a sadist, a man who took great delight in seeing his victims suffer. Barbie was a hands-on person and seemed to have a choleric temperament because he did not want to assign the task of torturing the prisoners to his underlings, for the simple reason that he liked doing it himself.
One of the strongest belief systems operating in most Cholerics is that if there is a job to be done, they believe that they can do the job better than anyone else around, and they don’t stop until the job is finished. They don’t mind getting their own hands dirty.
Cholerics have perseverance and it goes against the grain for them to give up on any project. They will see a project through to the bitter end even if the project looks to be one that isn’t worth completing. Klaus Barbie saw his project through to the bitter end.
First hand, recorded accounts of Barbie’s torture methods are horrendous. One report states that he tied children to the stake and made their parents watch as the children were burned alive. This was to ensure that the parents would give up the information that Barbie wanted. True or false no one really knows
At Klaus Barbie’s trial the daughter of one of the tortured victims told the court that her father had been beaten, skinned alive and his head had been dunked into a bucket filled with ammonia. Only then had her father mercifully died. Some of Klaus Barbie’s victims were found with their heads caved in and the marks of hob nailed boots on their faces. He enjoyed beating them and he enjoyed the actual act of killing.
Just like Idi Amin, Barbie liked the fact that people were afraid of him; it gave him a feeling of power and he did like to flex his muscles. People who knew Barbie personally said that they knew he was a mass murderer and it’s estimated that he was personally responsible for about fourteen thousand deaths.
One of Barbie’s documented crimes, a crime that helped to convict him, was the deportation of forty four Jewish children to Auschwitz, a concentration camp in Poland where the children were put to death in the gas chambers.
But the most shameful part of the Klaus Barbie story is that the American army gave him a free pass so that he could escape retribution by the French. The Americans wanted information that only Klaus Barbie could provide. He knew everything there was to know about the Soviets that the Americans didn’t know and the Americans felt that Klaus’s information was valuable enough to let him go free. In return for helping out the United States, Barbie was provided with a false passport and five thousand dollars. Thereafter he was transported to Genoa in Italy where he was given free passageway across the Atlantic to South America.
Barbie along with fifty thousand other Nazis lived out the rest of his life in South America, in Bolivia the country of his choice. While living in Bolivia the ex-Nazi became quite successful working as a government advisor until years later he was extradited to France and put on trial in 1984 for his crimes against humanity. He was found guilty but died in prison shortly thereafter of leukemia and prostate cancer; a relatively easy way to die for a man who had made his victims suffer so much.
Barbie’s father was an abusive alcoholic and he did not permit Barbie to attend college where he wanted to study theology. This shadow of a boy was described by his classmates as quiet, shy and unobtrusive, not unusual behavior for a choleric child who has been brutalized by his father.
During the trial Barbie’s adult daughter described the father she knew, as a quiet, kind and gentle man. Cholerics are not usually quiet, kind and gentle but they know by instinct how play that particular shadowy role in a family setting, if they have grown up just like John Wayne Gacy.
Klaus Barbie’s father hated the French even though his own ancestors were believed to be French. Barbie’s father was a prisoner of war in France during World War I, and at the end of the war he returned home an embittered man. What his son wanted was vengeance against the French who had imprisoned his suffering wounded father. Barbie has been quoted as saying to his victims, “Don’t worry, your friends are dead and you are going to join them,” and “when I stand before the throne of God, I shall be judged innocent.”
Did the Nazis actually believe that God was a blue eyed, blond, white skinned Aryan and did they still believe in a God who was seated on a throne considering what verdict to pass on each and every single human being who has ever walked on the face of this earth, billions and billions of people? It is more likely that our own recollections recorded somewhere in the deep recesses of our minds will be both judge and jury, if there is indeed a verdict to be passed. Our own misdeeds cannot be permanently erased from our memories like the members of the French resistance who were permanently erased from life under Klaus Barbie’s barbaric practices.

Walter Rudolf Richard Hess (1894-1987)
Walter Rudolf Richard Hess held a high position in Nazi Germany. Before Martin Bormann became second in command, Rudolf Hess held the position of second deputy Fuhrer, in line behind Herman Göring who was the first deputy Fuhrer. But after Hess made his fateful decision to seek peace with the British without the consent of Adolf Hitler, Hitler accused Hess of high treason and sentenced him to death, in absentia.
Many people in the party thought that Hess was unstable because of his belief in astrology, telekinesis and natural healers, but Hess saw himself as courageous; courageous enough to stop the war between Britain and Germany thereby hoping to become the hero of the day.
These are the descriptions of Rudolf Hess as told by people who knew him well. He was a wide eyed fanatic, a legal zealot, punctilious and full of integrity but unfortunately he was like an ostrich because he had his head buried in the sand when it came to his loyalty towards Hitler.
Hess was also a Choleric. One of the traits that he shared with his master was an aversion to doing tedious paperwork. Because they are so impatient, Cholerics tend to avoid jobs that demand a lot of detailed facts and figures. Instead they like to take action and that is exactly what Hess did.
Years before coming to power, Hess and Hitler were imprisoned together after they were involved in a minor bid to seize control of the Bavarian government. This jail setting was where Hess helped Hitler to write ‘Mein Kampf,’ an autobiographical book outlining Hitler’s political ideology. The jail setting was a place where two choleric men could develop patience and could afford to take the time to write a book, because they had nothing better to do. This book actually provided Hitler with the bulk of his earned income. It made him a millionaire.
Hess professed to love Hitler as much as he loved his own wife. He was a fastidious man who at first tried to fashion himself in the image of Hitler, but at a certain point he decided that he could do the job better himself and so he took action.
In secret, this action-oriented Choleric flew solo to Scotland in an attempt to create a peace treaty between Germany and Britain. He mistakenly believed that the British would welcome him aboard and that Hitler would thank him for his bravery and for executing this daring plan. The plan backfired and four years later, after having spent the years of his capture by the British in prison, Hess was returned to Germany to face trial for his part in the war.
It is interesting to note that Rudolf Hess was not charged with crimes against humanity because Hess did not actually commit any acts of brutality or any crimes against humanity. No evidence came to light showing that he gave any orders to commit crimes against humanity. He held himself to a high moral code and valued his own honor, but his downfall was that he was an avowed Anti-Semite. It was Hess who advised Hitler to confiscate all the property of the Jews and it was Hess who helped to generate the Nuremberg laws that discriminated against Jews.
The Nuremberg laws set in writing a definition of who was racially unacceptable (Jews, Gypsies, Negroes and their bastard off-springs), and who was racially acceptable (Germans and those with German related bloodlines). These laws also banned marriage and sexual relationships between Germans and Non-Aryans and the laws also stripped all Jews of German citizenship.
Hess did not seek power and he did not personally enrich himself but he was a devoted follower of the man whom he adulated, his boss Adolf Hitler. Like Mike Philpott, Hess just wanted to be a hero.
During the Nuremberg Trials that were held for the purpose of bringing Nazi war criminals to justice, Hess was charged with the lesser crime of ‘Crimes against Peace.’ He was sentenced to life imprisonment where he remained until his death at the age of ninety three. At his trial Rudolf Hess made a speech emphasizing his belief that God would absolve him of all crimes. He did not die of old age, and rumors abound that he was strangled, but the official explanation is that he committed suicide and hanged himself.
Rudolf Hess was born and raised in Egypt where his father owned and operated an import-export business. He grew up in luxury but he also grew up in a rigid, disciplined German styled household. He rebelled against his father’s wishes for him to remain home and help with the family business and near the end of World War I, Hess left home to enlist in the German army.
By all accounts Hess did not grow up in a dysfunctional family. He may have hated his father because of the strict discipline, but he did eventually end up as a scapegoat for the Nazi party. This idiosyncratic, slightly off-balance ex-deputy did not receive clemency and early release like some of his more brutal, jailed, Nazi compatriots. The reason for this denial is because as long as Hess was imprisoned in Spandau jail in West Berlin, it gave the Soviets a foothold there.
After the war, Berlin, the capital of Germany was divided by the victors; Britain, the United States and the United Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR). In 1961 after relations had deteriorated between the USSR, the United States and Western Europe, communist Russia with its agreed to power to rule over East Germany, sealed off the Eastern portion of Berlin. Britain and the United States held on to West Berlin. The wall dividing East and West Berlin eventually came down in 1990 after the Soviet collapse, but not before hundreds of East Germans died endeavoring to escape from communist East Berlin, many of them by trying to scale the formidable wall.
The prize that Rudolf Hess hoped for was glory. He was convinced of his own high morality and he has been quoted as saying, “No matter what human beings do I shall some day stand before the judgment seat of the eternal. I shall answer to him, and I know he will judge me to be innocent.”
It can be assumed that when Rudolf Hess was composing the Nuremberg Laws, he forgot that the Jesus Christ he believed in was a Jew. According to the Nuremberg Laws, if he had been alive at that period of time in history, Jesus Christ would not have been welcome in Germany; he would have been sent to a concentration camp and used as slave labor until he died from disease or starvation, whichever came first.

Adolf Eichmann (1906-1962)
Otto Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi who managed to outwit his hunters and escape to Argentina has been described as the ‘Banal Face of Evil.’ It is a good description of how well a mediocre looking, choleric man was able to hide his true nature from the world, but the banal face of evil was just a mask. Eichmann was a depraved, disgusting man much like his Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler.
This so-called, inconsequential looking man managed to climb up to the position of lieutenant colonel in the German military hierarchy, and because at one time he had taken a few lessons in the Hebrew and Yiddish languages, he gained a reputation for being an expert on Jews. Because he could speak a smattering of the Jewish languages he was put in charge of the deportation of the Jews out of Europe as well as the mass deportation of Jews into ghettos. He was pivotal in the rounding up of the Jews of Europe so that they could be transported to their deaths in German extermination camps.
Eichmann showed some kind of efficiency at being able to organize Jewish transportation by train at the lowest possible cost to the Reich, but he was mainly a statistician; he was obsessed with numbers and numbers were the name of his game. Eichmann was also obsessive about punctuality and became very upset if the trains used for transportation were late. Because of their high energy output, Cholerics lean towards exhibiting obsessive-compulsive behavior and Eichmann fitted the bill.
Those who worked with Eichmann described him as detail oriented but his details were in the mathematics of each situation. He was the perfect bureaucrat and he had an icy determination to see things through and finish each project that was allotted to him. But later in life, according to one of his supervisors in Argentina who worked alongside him in the hydraulics industry, Eichmann wasn’t accurate enough. He recorded the data wrong and had no talent for organization.
This desk murderer was reported to be full of energy but he also had a habit of exploding with rage if things didn’t go his way. This was the energetic rage of a choleric man. But Eichmann had no stomach for the brutality he saw when he was forced to inspect the concentration camps where he sent Jews to die. It is reported that he carried a flask of alcohol with him for sustenance during these inspections.
Adolf Eichmann preferred being an executioner from afar. It is reported that he had a nervous tic and was easily agitated and although he knew the war was coming to an end, his choleric temperament drove him on to finish the job. The Nazi desk murderer’s only expressed regret was that he never got the job done. He wasn’t able to murder every Jew in Europe and that is exactly the kind of thing that would bother a vicious, choleric Anti-Semite; not being able to finish the job.
At his trial in Israel, Eichmann refused to take responsibility for his crime. He explained that he was only following orders and he compared himself to Pontius Pilate, the Roman prefect who bowed to the wishes of the Israelite mob and gave the orders to crucify Jesus Christ. Pontius Pilate washed his hands off the crime.
Eichmann also tried to wash his hands off the crime but he didn’t get his facts correct. Pontius Pilate tried to persuade the mob to set Jesus free but the mob refused. Adolf Eichmann had no intention of setting the Jews free but it’s interesting to note that in private, he was a compulsive hand washer.
After the war, Austria was the country of choice where Eichmann first tried to hide and where he managed to live undetected for five years, but he was afraid of being found out and so he fled to Argentina. Eichmann lived in Argentina under an assumed name and eventually he ended up getting a management job there working for a German car manufacturer.
After many years of detective work, Mossad, the Israeli, secret, intelligence agency managed to track Eichmann down; he was kidnapped from Argentina and spirited away to Israel to stand trial for his crimes. In May of 1962 he was sentenced to death by hanging, the first death sentence ever to be carried out in the State of Israel.
The Eichmann family was relatively prosperous. Their son played the violin, participated in sports but had a poor academic performance in school. He held a few mediocre jobs until he joined the Nazi party where he rose to fame.
The prize that Adolf Eichmann sought was admiration for getting the job well done. At the end of his trial Eichmann is quoted as saying, "If we would have killed ten point three million Jews, then I would have been satisfied and would say, good we annihilated an enemy… we’ll meet again soon as is the fate of all men. I die believing in God.”

Martin Bormann (1900-1945)
Martin Bormann is described as the second most influential person of the third Reich, the third German empire that almost brought the entire world to ruin. He was also described by those who worked alongside him as the most evil of Hitler’s henchmen, but that honor is shared between Heinrich Himmler the phlegmatic mass murderer and Josef Mengele the sadistic sanguine torturer.
To those who worked under him, Bormann was a brutal, melancholic taskmaster and although Hitler was aware of Bormann’s strong arm tactics Hitler had the utmost confidence in his capabilities. Hitler gave Bormann complete charge of creating a vacation Utopia for himself in the mountains of Bavaria, a place where Hitler could relax in peace and a place where his view of the mountain would be undisturbed.
On Bormann’s orders, all residents of that mountain area were ordered to hand over their houses and relocate somewhere else and anyone who refused to obey this order was to be sent to a concentration camp. Thereafter the hired workmen, whom Bormann treated like slaves, were given the job of bulldozing the seized residences to the ground so that the view from Hitler’s new chalet would not be obstructed. The chalet was built in record time because of Bormann’s relentless harassment of the workers. This was a man who liked to give orders and who wanted to be in control.
Hitler depended on Bormann, a man who had wormed his way up the ladder and into the pockets of his hero, Adolf Hitler the man who had all the power and the man who had all the money. Bormann became Hitler’s secretary and over time he managed to insinuate himself into his master’s graces to the degree that without hesitation, he was able to produce vast sums of money for his own pet projects. Bormann was a master at squeezing money that was destined for other things, and placing that money into his own treasure bucket.
He worshipped his lord and master but those people who knew him and those people who were forced to work with him, referred to Bormann as brown excrement.
Bormann was a master of control, a manipulator and a self-centered Melancholic. He loved work projects but unlike Cholerics, Bormann the Melancholic did not like to get his hands dirty. He was not a hands-on person but he liked to bully other people into doing his will. But if Hitler was aware of Bormann’s manipulative techniques he obviously didn’t care because Bormann was so utterly skilled at controlling people and getting a job done right. He directed people how to act in front of Hitler, he controlled what Hitler was allowed to know and opinion is that Bormann’s influence was pivotal in the way the Nazi party progressed.
In Hitler’s eyes Bormann had some very fine qualities. Bormann was blindly loyal to his master, he worshipped and adored his master and he was totally fixated on his master, but Hitler was shrewd enough to know that Bormann was also fixated on materialism. In actual fact Hitler used to refer to Bormann as a Philistine, a person devoid of art and culture but Hitler was wrong.
Martin Bormann had a wife who had born him eight children but he also had many mistresses who also bore him children. Bormann actually believed in polygamy. He once wrote a letter to one of his mistresses expressing the notion that one man should have many wives but women should only have one husband. A German telephone operator who was in charge of the connections between important Nazis and outside communications, confessed that he, the telephone operator, sometimes listened in surreptitiously to Bormann’s conversations with his mistresses, and Bormann used to quote poetry to them.
Just like Amelia Dyer, Hitler’s secretary expressed a love for poetry and just like Amelia Dyer Bormann was an exploiter of people. He loved money. Everyone around him feared and despised his strong armed tactics, his brutal methods and his cold hearted nature. Like his counterpart, Bormann is credited with coming up with a quicker, cheaper method for exterminating the Jews. It is believed that instead of shooting them, he was the person who thought of using gas to murder people en masse, because gas was faster and cleaner.
This friendless Philistine grew up with an abusive stepfather. His own father died when Bormann was three years old and there was no positive male influence in his life except the friend of his youth Rudolf Hess, the man who was influential in finding a job for Bormann within the German Nazi party.
Both men were runaways. They ran away from home when they were fifteen years old but Bormann was an exploiter child, and Hess was just a rebel in their respective, deadly, dysfunctional families. It was said that Bormann’s wife worshipped and adored him, and he cared enough about her that he was able to use the excellent organizational skills of his melancholic brain to provide a way for his family to escape capture by the allies. They escaped and were spirited away to southern Tyrol.
All members of Hitler’s inner circle carried cyanide capsules with them wherever they went and years later Bormann’s body was found and positively identified. Shards of glass were found in his teeth leading to the conclusion that he had committed suicide by swallowing a cyanide capsule just like his beloved master.
Martin Bormann wanted power, money and sex and he is quoted as saying,”…It is happiness and comfort for us men to have a precious sweetheart…” and “National Socialism and Christianity are irreconcilable.” Bormann was an atheist. He loved Hitler, he loved women, and he loved poetry but it was not in vogue to be an atheist in Nazi Germany because logic dictated that if there was no creator God, there couldn’t possibly be a master race.

Herman Göring (1893-1946)
Herman Wilhelm Göring was quite a character. He was an ace pilot, a high ranking officer and he loved his reputation as the quirky man who could always take a joke. He even made jokes about himself and his own enormous girth, and he played the part of a clown well.
But Göring was also a morphine addict as a result of being given morphine to treat the pain he suffered caused by injuries received during World War I. He was also injured when he tried to help Hitler seize control of the Bavarian government and at one time Göring was actually hospitalized in a lunatic asylum in Sweden, the birth country of his first wife. In Sweden he was declared to be a dangerous, violent, morphine addict
This pompous, puffed-up, melancholic swashbuckler from hell was ambitious. He was looking for his main chance to grab power and accumulate wealth and he was so self assured that he even went so far as to suggest that when the time came to negotiate a peace treaty with the conquering allies, Hitler ought to name Göring first in line after himself in case Hitler wasn’t available. Göring telegraphed this suggestion to Hitler after receiving the news that Hitler planned to commit suicide.
Göring was so sure of himself that he was confident enough to want to act as the great peacemaker as soon as he realized that Germany had been defeated, and he was so sure of himself that he believed he would survive the war and that he would be treated by the allies as a respected member of the Luftwaffe.
Hitler had appointed Göring as Commander in Chief of the German aerial warfare branch because of Göring’s high flying victories during the previous war. Most likely Göring’s distasteful bravado was the result of his drug addiction because the drug caused his natural melancholic disposition to rise to the surface and display itself in all its self-centered glory. Göring was ostentatious and self indulgent and he wasn’t able to mask his true nature. His main focus in life was himself all the way to the bitter end.
Herman Göring was a man who tried to ride on the coattails of men with power and he thought that he would be able to ride on the coattails of the conquering, allied commanders. He had a certain amount of charm; his manipulative techniques helped him to scope out an opportunity and then he would strike to gain full advantage. Göring was an opportunist. It was he who led the crusade against the Jews of Europe preventing them from owning property.
Thousands of rare paintings, art treasures and precious jewels had been stolen from the Jews of Europe and Göring was in charge of these shipments of Nazi plunder. As the trainloads of stolen goods thundered towards Paris where Hitler had ordered the goods to be stored, money hungry Göring was hot on the trail. He managed to confiscate a large quantity of precious items for himself before Hitler found out about it and Hitler was displeased.
Göring fell out of favor with Hitler due to the fact that his Luftwaffe failed to deliver on his grandiose promises of victory. The German public blamed Göring for failing to protect them from the British air raids that decimated many German cities. But Göring had his blinders on. The morphine made him feel invincible and he wasn’t weaned off the drug until he was captured at the end of the war by the U.S. Seventh army in Bavaria,
At the Nuremberg Trials Göring was charged with waging a war of aggression, conspiracy, war crimes including the plundering of works of art and other property and also crimes against humanity including; disappearance of political and other opponents, the torture and ill-treatment of prisoners of war and the murder and enslavement of civilians including an estimated five million, seven hundred thousand Jews.
It is believed that while Göring the melancholic clown was imprisoned in Nuremberg waiting for the Nuremberg Trials to start, that he used his wily charm on one of his American prison guards in order to gain favors. After he was found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging, Göring persuaded this prison guard to bring him one of his personal, confiscated belongings, a pen containing a cyanide capsule. Göring outwitted the hangman’s noose by swallowing the cyanide capsule because just like his boss Adolf Hitler, Goring had no intention of letting anyone put a noose around his neck.
During the Nuremberg Trials, Göring was observed trying to calm down Rudolf Hess who was visibly distressed. Even under the most awful circumstances and completely drug free, the clown kicked into his usual role, and tried to make light of the situation.
After Göring’s mother gave birth to him, she left the newborn baby in Germany with one of her friends and returned to Haiti to be with her husband who was stationed there. Göring did not meet his own parents until he was three years old. At the age of eleven he was sent to a harsh disciplinarian boarding school but managed to runaway from the school and return home.
Above all, Herman Göring wanted respect, wealth and admiration. The man with the high IQ has been quoted as saying, “No enemy bomber can reach the Ruhr. If one reached the Ruhr my name is not Göring,” and “God gave the savior to the German people. We have faith, deep and unshakable faith that he (Hitler) was sent to us by God to save Germany.”
The mass of humanity wants to have a God to worship. They seem to feel the need to worship ordinary men who look like they have what it takes to be a God, and in today’s world the mass of humanity even wants to worship ordinary women who because they have outward beauty are viewed as worthy to be adored.
In some parts of the world, people even worship ordinary children and place them in the category as being either Gods or Goddesses. It is a search for beauty and perfection. It is a search for some kind of sparkling, larger than life, magical person who can take away the dull monotony of ordinary everyday life. Perhaps this is the reason that God if he/she exists prefers to remain invisible. Just like Hitler and the Hollywood movie stars, God may not measure up to the image we have of him or her as the case may be.
